How do I hide tracing results in my email inbox?

You can configure your email program to automatically move tracing results from the inbox to a designated folder for you. In this way, you do not see the tracing results in your inbox unless you open the designated folder. For example, you can do so by selecting Tools/Rules Wizard in Microsoft Outlook. In Microsoft Outlook Express, select Tools/Message Rules. In mail.yahoo.com, select Options/Filters after login. This kind of inbox assistant feature is also widely available in other email programs and web-based email services.

You can also receive tracing results in a different email address. You may configure your email program to automatically forward tracing results to your other email addresses.

Alternatively, you can change your Inspice user ID (email). Then the tracing results will be sent to a new email, which is your new Inspice user ID. A proper step is: 1) Change Inspice user ID to a new email address. 2) Run Setup and click on Refresh.

How do I report lost or stolen computer?

Please also report the theft or loss to the police and/or appropriate authority in your area.

Note that if you setup to receive tracing result emails to your laptop that is stolen or lost, you must change your email account password immediately. It will make sure that you do not lose any of your emails, especially tracing results. The report won't affect Inspice Trace program, which does not require lost or stolen report.

Glossary

IP Address: a unique numeric address of a device attached to the Internet. An IP address is also called external IP address (or public IP address), which is routable. But some addresses are reserved for internal use only in local area networks. For example, from 192.168.0.0 to 192.168.255.255 are reserved for internal use only (in IP version 4). These addresses are called internal IP addresses (or private IP addresses), which are non-routable. Usually, an IP address means an external IP address unless specifically mentioned. IP address along with tracing time can be translated to a street address to locate your missing computer.
